Gunsmith guts $85 Hi-Point to make custom ‘Race Gun’

While the gun community turns their collective noses up at anything offered by High-Point, one gunsmith saw a used C9 as an opportunity for a cheap project.

After spending $85 at a North Carolina pawn shop, the shooter was the ‘proud’ owner of a very used 9mm High-Point C9.

He disassembled the weapon and replaced a variety of parts, stippled the grip, and finally milled the slide to add a Magpul rail.

With the addition of some $20 optics, his low-budget Franken-gun was ready to go
